This 46-page AARP booklet provides information on reverse mortgages and other, less costly alternatives for homeowners. Single copies are available free:


Multiple copies
are available at no cost to HUD-approved counseling agencies on HUD's list at http://www.hud.gov/offices/hsg/sfh/hcc/hccprof14.cfm. These agencies can order up to 50 copies at a time by sending an email to rmcounsel@aarp.org.

Multiple copies are available to others for $2.50 each postpaid:

  • Make check payable to AARP Foundation (sorry, we cannot accept credit card orders).

  • Add applicable sales tax for shipments to CA, CO, DC, and VA; please include street addresses, and no Post Office boxes for shipping.

  • Packed in boxes of 50, but smaller or larger quantities may be ordered
